Posting your required work (job)

Posting your Job is really simple! Simply click on Post Job item on the Orange Menu, or from the buttons on the front page of www.jobbit.com.

You don’t have to fill in too many details and you don’t have to give your complete address either, just enough to let the tradesmen know what City and postal area your job applies to.

Give the job a title that will give the tradesmen a good idea as to what you need doing . Good examples of titles include:

  • “Re-roof my house”
  • Plumb in my washing machine
  • Fit a combi-gas boiler
  • Erect a shed in my garden
  • Erect a fence in my garden
  • Paint the front of my house
  • Build a conservatory

You can write anything, but please just remember to make it descriptive enough for a tradesman to get a good idea as to what the job involves.

Next you need to provide a more detailed description. This could be to give dimensions of your walls, your garden or the fence you want erecting, or details about complications or specific requirements of the job.

Next tell us when you want the job completed by. This will make sure you don’t get quotes from tradesman that can’t do your work in time for you – it would just waste yours and their time otherwise.

Then just tell us where the job is – you don’t have to give a door number or road, just the City and Postcode. Again, this gives the tradesman enough information as to whether it’s in a suitable area for them. You don’t necessarily want someone quoting on your job if your based in Sheffield and you Tradesman is based in London.

  • Next you can enter as many keywords about your job that might give tradesmen a hint. This isn’t essential, it just might help the tradesmen find your job. Keywords could be things like:
  • gas boiler replacement
  • plumber
  • electrician
  • garden

Or whatever is relevant to the job you are posting.

You can also upload an image of the work you need doing if you think it will help. For example, if you wanted the front of your house re-painted you could upload a picture of your house. Or if you wanted a kitchen fitted you could include a photo of your current kitchen so that tradesman gets an idea of its shape.

Then make sure you agree with our terms and conditions and just click “Submit job”. Then you’re done! Tradesman can then find your job by searching on the site, and they can get alerts to your job as well. Just sit back, relax, and wait for the quotes to come in. You’ll get an email when a tradesman provides a quote or asks you a question on the site.
