If you are a tradesman (be it a plumber, gardener, electrician, roofer, painter or whatever), you can register on Jobbit to find work near you. Once registered you can also get automatic email alerts when a job is posted that you might be interested in. To register, simply click on the “Become a Jobbit Tradesman” button on the front page of www.jobbit.com. You’ll then see the following page with the details you need to fill in.

The details are split into two main sections – your account details and then your business details. For your account we just need an email address, a unique username and a password. You’ll need to type in your password twice just to make sure you haven’t accidentally hit the wrong key.

You business details includes its name and any catch-line that you may. The keywords section is optional but allows customers to find you more easily. You just type in a comma separated list of what services you offer – for example, “plumber, boiler installations, bathroom fitter” or “gardener, landscape gardener, grass cutting” etc. You can also upload a logo for your business or even a copy of your business card, it’s up to you. Then just provide a more detailed description of what your business offers.

The contact details includes your telephone number and website, but if you don’t have a website then don’t worry, just leave it blank. Then fill in the address of your company.

You can then opt-in to receive news from Jobbit, and also from our partners, if you are interested in being kept up-to-date with offers and news. Then simply press the Sign-up button.

Next you’ll see a page advising you to check your email to activate your account. You’ll need to find that email we’ve sent you and then click on the link provided in it, otherwise your account won’t get activated. The mail will look something like this:

Once you click on the link you’ll be advised your account has been activated. Then you’ll be able to start searching for jobs, providing quotes and winning work!
